Aloo Vada Recipe

INGREDIENTS
1. Boiled Potatoes - 4 large
2. Ginger - 1/4 finely chopped
3. Green chilli - 2 finely chopped
4. Fresh coriander leaves
5. Chaat masala - 1/2 teaspoon
6. Salt
7. Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon
8. Besan (gram flour) - 1 cup
9. Carom seeds ( ajwain) - 1/4 teaspoon
10. Black salt - 1/4 teaspoon
11. Mustard seeds - 1/4 teaspoon
12. Mustard oil - 4 tablespoon
METHOD
1. Mash the boiled potatoes. Add finely chopped ginger, green chilli, salt, coriander leaves, chaat masala in it and mix well.
2. Heat 1/2 tablespoon mustard oil and add 1/4 teaspoon mustard seeds. Once seeds starts to crackle add it in the mashed potatoes for tadka. This will enhance the taste of vada. Mix all the ingredients well in a bowl.
3. Prepare a besan (gram flour) batter in a bowl. Add salt as per taste, pinch of turmeric and carrom seeds (ajwain) in it.
4. Heat oil in a pan. Make a tikki like shape of mashed potatoes. Now dip the tikkis in the batter. Fry all the tikkis on medium heat.
Tip - You can also try it by adding some curd over, finely chopped onions, green chillies, chaat masala, black pepper, red chilli powder and green chutney!
