Aloo Tikki Chaat Recipe
PREPARATION TIME - 15 mins.
COOKING TIME - 30 mins.
INGREDIENTS
(For tikki)
1. Boiled potatoes - 4-6
2. Cooking oil - 2 tablespoon
3. Salt - as per taste
4. Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
5. Chaat masala - 1/2 teaspoon
(For chole)
1. White peas whole (soaked overnight) - 2-3 cups
2. Salt - as per taste
3. Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon
4. Coriander powder - 1/2 teaspoon
5. Kashmiri mirch powder - 1/2 teaspoon or as per taste
6. Red chilli powder - 1/4 teaspoon
7. Asafoetida (hing)
8. Cooking oil - 1 tablespoon
9. Bay leaf - 1
(For Chaat)
1. Finely chopped onions - 1
2. Finely chopped Green chilli - 2
3. Soaked tamarind (imli)
4. Whipped yogurt - 2 tablespoon
5. Aloo bhujiya (optional)
6. Red chilli powder - 1 teaspoon
7. Chaat masala - 1/2 teaspoon
8. Black salt - 1/2 teaspoon
9. Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
METHOD
(FOR CHOLE)
1. Add soaked white peas to cooker. Pour 1-2 glass of water. Now add salt as per taste, turmeric, coriander powder, kashmiri mirch powder, Red chill powder, pinch of asafoetida, bay leaf and 1 tablespoon of mustard oil. Turn the flame to medium and close the lid.
2. Turn off the flame after 3 whistles. Peas should be soft. If not cooked properly wait for another whistle.
(For tikki)
1. Mash the boiled potatoes properly. Add salt, black pepper, red chilli powder, chaat masala and mix well.
2. Now make mashed potatoes in the shape of tikki (flat round shape). Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a non stick pan. Fry all the tikkis on medium flame.
3. Take out all the tikkis in a plate.
(For chaat)
Take 2-3 tikkis in a plate. Add chole over it. Add chopped onions, curd, green chili, black salt, chaat masala, tamarind water, black pepper, aloo bhujiya, red chilli powder.
Flavourful Aloo Chaat is ready!
