Palak Kofta | Spinach Dumplings Recipe
PREPARATION TIME - 15 mins.
COOKING TIME - 15 mins.
INGREDIENTS
1. Onions - 2 medium
2. Finely chopped fresh spinach- 1/2 kg
3. Besan (gram flour) - 1 cup / as required
4. Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon
5. Salt - as per taste
6. Tomato puree - 2 large
7. Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
8. Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
9. Kashmiri mirch powder - 1/2 teaspoon
10. Red chilli powder - 1/2 teaspoon
11. Kasuri methi - 1/4 teaspoon
12. Cumin seeds - 1/4 teaspoon
13. Bay leaves - 1
14. Asafoetida
15. Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 teaspoon
METHOD
1. Finely chopped and wash the spinach. Take the spinach in a bowl and add 2 tablespoon besan, salt as per taste, pinch of turmeric, ginger garlic paste, green chili and mix well.
2. Heat oil in a pan. Make balls of the mixture and fry them. Now in the leftover oil, add whole cumin, pinch of Asafoetida, bay leaves and chopped onions and saute for 2 mins. After 2 mins. add ginger garlic paste, coriander powder, kashmiri lal mirch, red chilli powder, salt, turmeric, garam masala and saute.
3 . Pour the tomato puree. Fry till the spices start separating from oil. Add 1/2 cup of water. Let it boil for 5-7 mins on medium flame.
4. Put all the koftas in the gravy and cook for 2 min. on low heat. Sprinkle some kasuri methi.
Hot kasuri methi is ready!
